The construction market here has shifted noticeably over the past five years — what was historically an energy and agriculture market is now also absorbing significant in-migration from coastal markets, driving multi-family demand in West End and Heights neighborhoods that local crews haven't always been able to fully meet. Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare anchor a steady commercial build pipeline, and the downtown corridor has seen periodic mid-rise mixed-use investment.
Billings is Edge Enterprise's first Montana market following our service-area expansion, and we've structured our approach around full-project crew assignment rather than rotation — at 11 hours from Long Prairie HQ, weekly rotation simply doesn't pencil for the GC. Snow load is roughly 30 psf for the city itself (lighter than most Minnesota markets), with a 115 mph design wind speed. The local construction code adheres to the IBC with Montana state amendments, and Yellowstone County permits framing inspections through their own building department.
